This space is dedicated to explaining how I turned my house into a home. I know this is a popular saying and means different things to different people. For me, it has always been important that my home is a cozy space where everyone can feel comfortable. I grew up in a time when formal living and dining rooms were only for special occasions and children had to live in a space where they were not allowed to touch anything or move freely around the house. I do believe that it is important for children to have boundaries and to be able to look but not touch in certain situations. I also think it’s important for them to play and feel comfortable. I think that a home should be a safe space where they can move freely and be creative.
I also think that adults need that kind of freedom too. Whether it’s my husband or a guest. Almost every room in my house is available to have a seat or a meal. The upper floors, where the bedrooms are located, are usually off-limits. Overall, our house is welcoming for guests, young and old.
