Crafting My Bliss

I’m Back

Gardening has been challenging and as a result blogging has been challenging. I’m not sure when or how, but at some point I hurt my back and pelvis. I was in physical therapy for months and it was a slow recovery. When I was well, I tried to go out in the garden as often as possible. Some days I just put on a back brace and took ibuprofen to minimize the possible pain. Then the unbearable heat set in and I couldn’t go outside as often.

Still, I managed to finish my rain garden and put more plants in my other gardens. With the hot days we experienced, it was difficult to harden off my plants and I ended up killing all my chamomile plants as well as my cayenne pepper and I’m sure a few other plants I can’t remember.

It’s officially summer in Maryland and that brings with it high temperatures and occasional thunderstorms. That means there will be more planning and projects to do. Welcome to summertime in my backyard oasis.
